Thruxton is a long narrow parish to the north of the A303 and stretching from near the border with Wiltshire in the west to almost as far as Andover which is now about 4 miles to the east.

Redenham Park and House were previously in the parish but were transferred to Fyfield in 1888.  The land is generally open farmland and there is the Pillhill Brook that flows through the village from Fyfield in the north.  Among the local family names appearing across the centuries are NOYES, HILLIER, and BRAY.

This twelve page booklet includes a great deal of historical information covering Thruxton and includes not only the gentry but also the teachers and ordinary people.  To assist with your research, useful references for documents and records for the parish that are held at the Hampshire Record Office are given throughout, together with other sources and website addresses with more information.
