Researching in Hampshire: A free event run by the Society of Genealogists on Monday 8 December
HGS are excited to be part of a free event being run by the Society of Genealogists (SOG) on Monday 8 December 2025 14:00 to 16:00 via Zoom
Fiona Ranger, our Bookstall and Liaison Officer, will be talking on how HGS can help you trace your Hampshire ancestors.

- Recent developments in Hampshire Archives’ customer services
- Sarah Lewin – Hampshire Archives
- The wealth of Hampshire’s archival collections, with particular focus on material featuring the Austen family (Jane Austen was born and baptised in Hampshire in December 1775)
- Janet Hird and Roger Ottewill – Victoria County History, Hampshire
- Humphrey Southall and Paula Aucott – A Vision of Britain Through Time
After the presentations there will be an opportunity to ask questions of the panel of speakers.
