Kingsley is a narrow parish in the east of the county to the west of the A325, 5 miles east of Alton and 8 miles south-west of Farnham.

Over the centuries it has had close links with the parish of Binsted to the north and can trace royal connections through hunting in medieval times in the local forests.  Over the years the military have been active in the area and with a military railway running from Bentley running south through the parish to Bordon before being closed in the 1960s.  The land largely consists of heath and forest with a number of ponds, watercourses and streams that feed into the southern part of the River Wey.  Among the local family names appearing across the centuries are CHRISTMAS, HOARE and WHITE.

This twelve page booklet includes a great deal of historical information covering Kingsley and includes not only the gentry but also the teachers and ordinary people.  To assist with your research, useful references for documents and records for the parish that are held at the Hampshire Record Office are given throughout, together with other sources and website addresses with more information.
