The ancient Hampshire village of Chalton had its origins as a Saxon ‘ridge’ settlement in the C6th. It is situated in rolling downland, and has a windmill standing sentinel over the village. Some of the most interesting village facts lie in the documents of Chalton Manor, and are usefully referenced in this booklet.
