Wider still and wider … Local Population Studies in England and continental Europe

The Local Population Studies Society (LPSS) is a charity devoted to promoting local history, social history, and historical demography in a local context. We publish the journal Local Population Studies, and other books and edited collections from time to time and welcome participation from everyone with an interest in local population history. We usually hold two conferences a year, rotating around the country to enable our members and those with an interest in the themes being explored to attend.

This year, due to the ongoing pandemic, LPSS and the Southampton centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies, University of Southampton will be hosting our Spring conference online and it will be free for both members and non-members. This Spring we will be showcasing some new and emerging research in population history and historical demography in a conference entitled Wider still and wider … Local Population Studies in England and continental Europe

Full details of the programme are attached here and available via our website http://www.localpopulationstudies.org.uk/conference/ where you can also find out more about the society.

The conference will be held on ZOOM on the afternoon of 17 April 2021. Attendance is free, but delegates must register in advance by completing and returning the registration form.

Kind regards
