Wickham History Society Exhibition

Wickham History Society is holding their much delayed 60th anniversary celebration (they are now 63!) on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October, from 11.00-4.00 each day at Wickham Community Centre, Mill Lane, Wickham PO17 5AL.

The exhibition has displays on archaeology, farming, Wickham Fair, the ‘Beverley Babes’, mills and water meadows and much more. You can browse photograph albums, transcriptions of the parish registers, and Wickham-related newspaper cuttings.

For visitors with Wickham roots, it is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about how they lived – did they go to Wickham school? were they one of the butchers? did they work on one of the local farms? Perhaps find their marriage details in the parish registers or spot granny in a school photo!

It’s free entry and will be of interest with those with a local history interest as well as social interest.
